Headphones for home use?

Been using iphone earbuds for years now, and i'm tired of them blowing up every 4-5 months. Since there is discounts going on, I finally decided to buy real headphones lol

Narrowed it down to these 2 but can't decide which one to go with. Any suggestions?

Sony MDR-V6 Monitor Series for $49.99

http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDR-V6-M...oductPromotions

or

Sony MDR-7506 for $99.00

http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MDR7506

Is it worth paying $50 more for 7 series? I know my mind is gonna be blown when I hear what an actual good pair of headphones can sound like but I wanna make sure if either one is a good choice.

Some of the upper tier in ear headphones are also good. I just got a pair of klipsch s4. love the qulity. they keep outside noise blocked out, and sound very good.

I've been using the Image S4's for 3-4 years and they finally broke last week. Bought new ones (older model - still the same sound quality, they didn't renew the 'engine' just upgraded the design) from eBay for $35. Can't really beat that deal for that kind of quality. I will recommend getting these even if you decide to buy on-ear headphones as well.

I've had Pioneer HDJ-1000's for a while, been pretty satisfied with them. I think you can get fairly good deals on them on eBay.

Apple ear buds are junk. Any cheap 10 dollar ear buds beats it. I have 7506 and the sound is very good for the price.

Honestly for home use i think you should go with over-ears headphones, more comfy, better sound quality can even be used with movies and stuff. I say go with the Sony's, either one you can afford they are both good for the price

ps. prepare to have your mind blown for real..it happened to me a few years ago, never looked a ipod buds again

Not at all. They come with 3 tips, depending on the size of your ear and which one you think is the most comfortable. They feel strange at first, different than earbuds, but you get use to them fast and will wonder why you never used them before.

I think you won't be disappointed.

Those are the only headphones that will stay in my ears without falling, even at the gym and while running. You'll get 4 different size ear pieces with the earphones and they all go inside your ear canal so it might feel weird at first. Very comfortable tho, you'll get used to it.

i would love to go with the headphones as they are more comfortable but i think earbuds are the better choice for me since i listen to my ipad outside very often.. i would feel like a douchebag wearing one those huge headphones and walking on the street lol

i'll try the s4's now and can always buy the sony headphone for home use only.

on the real i dunno why you didnt invest in a good pair of headphones a while ago. i threw out the ipod headphones the day i got them, such crappy sound.

for the gym i got these $20 pair of sony's that go behind your neck they are great for working out and dont get in your way.

for the beach i do wear ear bud ones since they dont cover my whole ears and i can still get a nice even tan on my ears

for home i either use behind the neck headphones or these

ive had them for almost 10 years and they still work fine

1. Sony MDR-V6
2. Sony MDR-V6
3. Sony MDR-V6

Did I mention the MDR-V6?

Seriously, it's 70 bucks (actually $50 on Amazon due to holiday sale) and it outperforms 200 dollar sets. Get them -- they are great headphones especially if you prefer a neutral response..the music sounds exactly like it's supposed to. If you want mroe bass, just adjust your EQ. And this is funny, but the 7506 is actually the same freaking headphone, same hardware, same everything. They are made at a different plant and it has a blue stripe on the side instead of a red one. Spend 30 bucks less.

And the sound quality and bass response from over-ear phones is far superior to the in-ear phones. A lot of people these days walk around with over-ear phones in...I don't think anyone gives a shit anymore. It just means you have an appreciation for good sounding music.
