As far as I know the Sony MDR-V6 Is the V7506 (the only difference I think is gold jacks), and everyone referes to them as diff headfones when its basically the same can.

But yea I've heard only praise and good things about the V6/7506, except the odd V700 person who claims that the V700 is the best think since the Technics 1200 series.... what they dont know, won't hurt em eh?

haha i bet those people would cry their eyes out once they do some research and see the way people trash the v700 when they review that headphone

a lot of ppl w/ the v700's run into trouble w/ the swivel cracking over time.. since v6 doesn't have swivel cups, i don't run into this problem. i love my v6, i think they put out a better sound than the v700 and cost almost half as much.. however, this is still a studio headphone and so although it produces great sound, i feel that they lack the volume u might need in a club atmosphere. spinning at home, in the bedroom, even house parties are fine w/ the v6.. but i've spun at a couple house parties that get soo loud that my v6's just sputter and if i turn the headphone volume low enough to have a clean sound, its not loud enough to hear over the outside noise.. but for normal mixing they are perfect and IMO way more comfortable than the v700. However, in a club (where the noise is outrageously loud), my v6 couldn't cut it.. they couldn't handle the power that i needed to send to the phones and where just fuzzy and almost useless (the club i spun at tonight had realy fuckin loud monitors that were about a ft away from my head which didn't help out).. so i think next time i will borrow my friend's v700 for the club, but on a day to day basis, i choose the v6 over v700 no questions asked.

Hapamoto,

Why not get something that does some major isolating, like the HFI-650 or the HD280 Pro, to negate the need for loudness in the first place? Cause that volume CAN'T be healthy for your ears....
