Thumbs up

Hello everybody...

Just spent last nite partyin' my @$$ off at one of the BEST parties I have ever attended. First of all, it wuz my bday celebration and I am so happy that so many ppls showed up despite their tight schedules (w/finals around the corner). From the bottom of my heart, a big thank you to all those party-goers who joepardized their rest for a night to spend it wif the RaverBoi08. Mad, mad love goes out to the 30 to 40 ppls =) Y'all know who u are. Thanx man...one love 4eva!

Secondly, the muzic was merely awesome no matter which room you chilled @ throughout the nite. A big pat on the back for Azim and Twisted Productions for pulling together such a good DJ Lineup and such sick lightning show. The headliners themselves were simply magnificant, but the local DJs like Greg C, was absolutely UNBELIEVABLE on the wheels. [My first discovery of Greg C was @ Simple IV (Nov. 2000) when he played in the theatre room. I swear, there were more partiers in there than there wuz in the main stage! No joke! I am so glad that he wuz spinning @ Twisted 2001 'cuz it really made my nite] In addition, I have found a new passion for rave muzic. At first, I didn't like breaks just 'cuz they sounded kinda weird/different; it's hard to dance to. However, after last nite, I now know that I can get used to breaks.

Thirdly, the vibe wuz SOOO there last nite. No matter where I went, all I saw were smiles and grins. Maybe everybody wuz high and wuz just being friendly..or maybe i looked so high they were all just laughing at me...hahaha..ps, i'm still high right now...

Anyway, I welcome everybody's comments on the party (muzic, DJs, lights, vibe, etc.) I think I had such an excellent experience b/c it wuz my bday celebration and b/c so many of my friends wuz there....but regardless, everybody had a good time there and mad mad props goes out to Twisted Productions! Keep up the good work guys!

PS. A BIG THANK YOU goes out to Stan of Uh-Oh Productions (http://www.uhoh-productions.com) for giving me a VIP as a bday present. I am just still overwhelmed by your generousity. Thanx bud!

Time to sign out guys...till next time...

Thumbs up AWESOME yes it was

Yo RaverBoi08...glad you have fun at Twisted 2001. I had the most fun of all raves I have been to. Too bad Judge Jules wasn't what you really expected but lock and load blow your mind off rite? Anyway you should try to rest yourself to recuperate from the lost sleeping time from working and partying. I guess our next party will be SUPER SWEET huh.....

Until next time, stay true to raving and GET SOME FUCKING SLEEEP!!!!!!!!!!

Thanx for the wishes Scorpia...

But honestly, I'm disappointed. Man, wut is wrong wif da 604 ravin' scene?....i'm sure a lot of "trance-addicters" went to Twisted 2001. How come, then, no one else has posted a reply of any sort other than rayray and scorpia? tsk tsk....and ppls say we have a good partyin' community here in vancouver...come on guys...where ur comments @?

That was simply an amazing party. Awsome music and I actually met lots of people that know lots about the music. Usally I never run into people that I can discuss the music with.

MAD props to Azim and the twisted crew for yet another amazing show.

Here....RaverBoi08...604-M-20-S

Uh....anything else?....

Yay~...now we're getting somewhere guys!

Yup...Scorpia's right...Judge Jules @ the Rage wuz a pre-party to Twisted 2001: Judgement Day. It wuz Jules, Azim and Vermentte (?) i think. That wuz alrite...Jules knows how to taunt the audience tho'...very hyped about his trax...shows confidence...i like, i like.

"i dont know how many TAs there are in the 604... trance isnt exactly huge yet here.. YET " ~ Patticus post 5.

I'm havin' my doubts on this one Patticus...a lot of trance DJs have spun in Vancouver in the past and the parties have been quite successful. In addition, many of the parties held @ Plaza's main stage is for trance and hardhouse (and the variations in between of course). Twisted '01, for example, wuz like this; iiMix another. My take on Vancouver's preferred genre of music IS trance. It may be progressive trance or hard trance but it still falls into the category of trance. Breaks is on the up and rising but trance is still holding strong. Perhaps my comments here is biased as I love trance...so if I am wrong, please do correct me.

raverboi, i love trance more than anyone else... i'll admit i havent been to a party since tall paul was here, but in terms of local djs id have said trance was dead. i know we get some big people here, which is great, but at the average every-weekend party it just wasn't big. if it's blown up in the last 3 months, then i must be wrong... which is really good

but some people say it isn't great or anything, so what are they spinning, cheese judge jules type stuff?
like storm, da hool, ubik, zombie nation..?
i hear azim's doing that.. not much progressive (maybe vancouverites haven't developed the patience after all that HH)

if you say trance is big now i'll believe you.. the big trance parties here are good, because people love good music, but i didn't know if the it was the "preferred" genre of music yet for local djs/party goers

Ok im pretty young but I have been involved with the Vancouver scene for a pretty long. This had been my observation:

The music in this scene goes in waves. Every few months or so one form of music becomes trendy. What I mean by trendy is that thats what all the new people in the scene are listing becuase thats what they think all the "Hardcore" or "Oldschool" party kids are listing to. About 2 years ago That was trance, EVERYONE was listing to trance. About 7 months ago Vancouver hit a VERY brief Jungle phase, in that period of time every single new person was a "Junglist" even though I would see them later in the main room doing the candy kick-step (if your from Van then you know thats our dance) to hard NRG or Trance. At the same time Jungle was trendy NU-Nrg was also having its time in the spotlight. Recently Breaks have been the in thing and to my dismay they have staye for a while, but im happy to say that it is finally on its way down. Twisted was the big Trance Eye-opener, I have never met that many new people that were loving the trance rather then the breaks. I met like 10 people on that night that had just taken up spinnign it.

So that has been my observations of the Vancouver scene from about 3 years ago.

Oh and at the Twisted pre-party it was Cliff Vermette that was spinning along side azim and Jules. He was a former NU-NRG dj (i got his first CD) that went the way of the progressive house.
