Bird Drops

Just currious - has anyone been fed by a bird before?

While up north I had the situation that a bird of prey droped me a 1 or 2lb chunk of meat.

I'm wondering if anyone knows of anyone else who has been given meat this way?

Also wondering in the case of a falcon or bird of prey that has been trained by a falconer --- is this type of thing common with trained birds of prey?

Is it at all common with wild ones.

I know there are bald eagles and greyfalcons in my area.. I'm just wondering what sorts of birds of prey would drop to humans?

BTW I had tons of meat I've never had befor by what might be chance
hare / vole / lots of fish , and the mystery meat from the bird.
I also picked up a turtle but did't eat it as it was still alive (only carried to the river - actually seeing turtles they are such funny creatures.

Anyway question was on the meat drop -- what types of bird do these things -- or was it simply coincidence and it dropped it by accident but didn't come back for it?

I think this was a grey falcon that was flying over me when I was swimming (there were two in the air)

I could be mistaken on this just thought I'd see if anyone is in the know on these things.

Happened the same day as oddity 10th of August
http://williamashley.info/mp3/oddity_97.mp3 (just a sliced and diced track) with only a little originality

I was actually playing with it a little in the water because the bird was overflying me and it looked like a predator (so I put my fingers up like they were horns to show it I was a big animal. Little bit later when I was on my way home I got a chunk of meat.

William, do you also find powerups in your treks through the woods? Mushrooms that cause one to grow to intimidating sizes? Ever tried robbing a bank after eating one of these wild mushrooms? It's great, you get so much money that you can in turn spend on supermarket meat, you don't even have to rely on birds anymore. Including trout.

Also the mushrooms let you shoot fireballs out of your hands and make all bad music good, which is rather a nice little perk, you know? We're both smart enough to realize that most music is pretty awful, so in a world like opposite world, most music is probably that much gooder.

But I diverse =- the point is that things you collect out in the worlds and forests might look and smell like meat, it can even add to your bonus level points and fortify your constiution, but it's just no replacement for a proper, well-balanced meal. Also, treasure. It's not as good as treasure like chalices and crowns behind secret doors. Somebody's counting those, you know.

Also, are you sure the vitamins are real? I mean actual lab tests can determine the caloric content by burning them at varying degrees, in fact a calorie is a unit of heat in the first place, that's where we get the term from. Some meat that birds drop could be fake and you dont know where it's been, so it's best not to eat it because they dropped it for a reason unless they brought it to you.

But burning is a good way to find out if the meat has vitamins and whether they are the kind the government is trying to get you to eat.

But raw meat has more iron in it if you don't burn it, so that's more good vitamins for your brain.

So it's probably better to burn everything AROUND tyhe meat instaead of the mea titself so that you can find the vitamins and calories without depleting the iron. you know?

haha. Yes actually I do. That along with many other things but very few bricks. I'm sure they are out there though. Wildmushrooms actually have things you can get in very few foods inlcuding imunoboosters.

Only for clams on the riverside.

Golly that will be the day.

Oddly in the 50 to 100 species I've encountered so far - none I have found in the woods has been hallucinogenic. (although some agaraics might be considered hallucinogens - they are also toxic... eg. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amanita_muscaria one of the few that would maybe be the crazy ones - I don't eat muscarias though)

4sur.

I grow vegetables too, in addition to the stuff that grows in the woods. Thing is though, natives survived for thousands of years on the stuff, so for you to say its not "well balanced" is questionable.

Yet to find a chalice or crown. I'll keep you posted.

BTW I'm actually somewhat suprised since there were stated to only be 126 peregrine falcons in ontario and I was fortunate enough to see 1 of them up close this summer. Not sure on the number of bald eagles but I got to see when of them on Canada day - also while swimming in the lake.

Hey we have peregrine falcons here in Colorqado, too. I remember years ago when I used to make DDT, I lost my job because they would fly into the sides of buildings that had mirrored glass.

Apparently DDT is still made in mexico etc... bad stuff for them as it is cancer causing.

I think it is a good sign they are back up here...

I get meat all the time from the local night owls. You can hear their calls at night. I think I'm the only one who knows what they're saying. Everyone else ignores them. They want a human friend. To get that human friend, they hunt for the human. I think I've become their friend because they drop dead rodents and lizards all the time by my window. The owls know that as their habitat is destroyed by human development, they must adapt to human civilization or die. I'm glad I can help the owls.

Only you would try to romanticize the idea of a fucking bird accidentally dropping its kill.
