the most humbling experiences in your life

one night, I played 5 on 5 pickup basketball against some fellow asians at my church and our team lost 50-49. we even had home court advantage since they were visiting, and we seemed to have better players too. It truly was humbling

and I don't mean to be a tryhard by saying "oh I did drugs or whatever." that's what I was looking for - a good experience. I ended up being fooled and bought 3 e pills laced with heroin or something very obscure. It had no positive effect, and I was bedridden for like 3 hours while being tormented throughout my body. That humbling experience made me more conscience in seeking God's help.

there was so much zest for life but now pride is almost broken. I'm wondering what yall went through that made you a modest, refined individual.

moderation is realization that one can always be ignorant. arrogance is only allowed when one is above and beyond intelligence. make sure you are confident, and make sure you are willing to learn, in order to not be stuck in the mistakes of stupidity or the mistakes of the assumptions of your intelligence.

i work with the some of the most talented guys in the music industry so i get schooled every day. Most humbling, having to conduct the NYP. I was 30. IT was just a one time thing but considering guys like Mahler, Bernstein, Toscanini , i mean people that are pretty much on the same level as say Beethoven , and then having to face the orchestra with them , the best musicians in the world knowing they are the best knowing the history give you that look like what the fuck do you think you are doing. That one took a few benzos and some adderal to balance it out so i didn't pass out.

Almost dying and then thinking for almost a week that I was possibly in a coma/dead and just dreaming I was ok/alive... it's humbling when you look at life with a renewed perspective
