Kick's

This might come off as a newbie question but ive been tinkering for hours on end trying to alleviate this issue. I have a track im working on at the moment. and i'm not exactly sure why but the issue im having is i am doing the arrangement of the build up going into the break and i have a few acid synths as well as a riser, snare roll and kick roll, now the only thing on the low end of those sounds i have in my build is my kick which is layered with 3 kicks, one as my low end, once as my mid range, and one is basically just the click on the high end. my problem is my kick drum roll on the build up seems to be interfering with my leads as the kick drum roll speeds up to from 1/4 notes to 1/8 notes to 1/16 notes. and when i mean interfering the leads seems to become clouded by the kick, which in my head i dont really get because they are on complete polar opposites of the frequency spectrum. if i take out the low end of my kick on my mixer during the buil. the "mid" and "high" kick i have doesnt interfere. just the low end. any tips or answers? thanks.

thats a bit weird to read - you say the upper and mid kicks are not interfering with the lead? maybe your lead is playing really high up the octaves then

As for why taking away the low end of the kick stops the clashing? i dunno, maybe the low end of the kick roll is triggering a limiter, are you using a limiter on the master

but yes, post some audio

sounds like your ears are being tricked by the kick's frequency range. the interference is not usually audible because the kick is of such short duration that your brain can "fill-in" the frequencies of the lead. but once you start rolling the kick, the freqs are interfering for a longer time, thus you notice the interference.

wouldn't account for the high end kicks not masking.

probably mixing into a compressor. Or the sub kick isn't really a sub and it is just louder than the synth when all are used. Unless it is a sine wav, there will be energy across the spectrum. I suppose one would ask why you are doing kick rolls in the first place.

There you go guys thats a sample of it i exported. now i think some of you may ask if the one of the kicks is the actual source of the sidechain which it is not. its a muted kick every 1/4 note of each bar muted as the feed of my sidechain. so tell me what you guys think may be the issue.

can't hear anything at any given moment.

I would just start with a kick and bass and get that working. This is terrible even without the kick rolls.

flutlicht for this style of melodic trance.

check out their remix of mark dawn's expander. You can always hear everything despite the full on arp melody , rolling bass and rather big kick. All done with no side chaining.
