Harvest Festival 2013

So has anybody been to Harvest Festival? If so how is it, and what could I expect if I go. It's 3 days for about $150 plus fees. I really want to check out Osunlade.
Funk D'Void and local Ali Black are also dj'ing.

Any information would be helpful.

Hands down the best festival organized by Toronto promoters.

I'd go every year if it were possible for me, regardless of who's playing. That's the beauty of it... even if you don't know who's playing, it's guaranteed quality music. The artists they bring in is just icing on the cake!

The setup, themes, community, and vibe are probably the biggest reasons why it's so much of a hit and why people make repeat appearances.

Definitely go. It's well worth your $150. And if you have to go alone, that's more than fine also. It's one of those festivals where you can make a lasting friendship(s) over the weekend.

this will be my 4th year going. dont go in expecting digital dreams. its not about fanfare. its about self expression and creativity. if you have an open mind you'll have a great time.

With that line-up, I don't think anyone would expect something like Digital Dreams.

love the idea, the place, the people, line up etc. My only complaint is the amount of dust there is because of people stomping through the dusty path, it really bothered me the year i went..

I'm thinking of going it alone, none of my friends can/want to go but I've been really wanting to do a decent outdoor campout festival for a while now so I think I'll brave it.

Yes, Harvest Fest is fucking awesome. I've been going for 6 or 7 years now and the party is out of this world. First you have the screaming head sculptures everywhere, then the structures that seem to be getting more awesome with every year, then the fucking music man (really intense) and then you have all these smiling freaky people and then you have so many babes you can't swing a cat without hitting a flock of them. Then you have Sunday afternoon which is always lovely and nakedness and animatronic sphinxes and a whole mess of other shit.

Things to bring: WARM CLOTHES AND/OR SLEEPING BAG (it gets nippy)
And that's about it.

Yes, go.

Worm Popper 5-time Harvester here: Go!

I'm an old geezer who is down to 3-4 events a year, and this is one of them.

Although psy trance is my thing, I enjoyed Rob Babicz play his Acid sound in Crash last year.

Come early for the Lunacy cabaret at 8pm. In fact, come a little earlier to get the lay of the land.

The art installations alone are amazing.

Great vibe. None of the pretentiousness, just smiles all 'round.

It's a blast.

Now who was the TA from Sudbury I met last year...

Harvest is a pretty kick ass time, although I haven't made it the last two years.

Generally, the Friday night has been pretty chill - not sure if they will have stages running this year or not on Friday. The last year I went, they had a chill / ambient / downtempo thing on Friday night near one of the smaller bonfires.

Expect things to be cold ... very cold, like frost on the ground cold - and be prepared for it.

For me, the best part of Harvest isn't so much the music (although the music is good for the most part), its the running around random shenanigans - wandering the fields, exploring the art, checking out each stage setup, being silly with friends.

There usually comes a point in the night in which I retreat to my tent at it's coldest point, then resurface as the sun starts to rise - chilling out near the Psy stage as the sun comes up is usually one of my favorite things to do there.

Each year I've gone, I probably spend more time randomly running around then actually dancing, and I don't have a problem with that.

Debating if I want to go this year or not.

It's not to be missed.

The Promise ppl put out a helpful list of things to bring, follow it and you'll be fine. Dressing for the cold is key though in the last few years there's been warm stages & chill out area - a huge bonus compared to previous years.

Excellent lineup this year too!
