Dunno "Global Hardstyle is no more / Hardstyle: a corrupt scene" ...WTF ???

Hello all tranceaddict's

I was just searching for a good hardstyle forum/community... but... surprise... coulnd't find one

I found this one that is closed :
http://www.globalhardstyle.com/forum/index.html
and I was really surprised about what I read here. and I really don't believe that it's true at all !! especially this paragraph :

"Hardstyle: a corrupt scene
Additionally corruption introduced into the hardstyle by companies such as Q-Dance, Scantraxx and many others taking part in a mafia cartel to ensure that only the people that are trusted within their groups are allowed to perform on their events. This makes hardstyle one of the few electronic genres in the world that is factually controlled by a handful of people. Events taking place go as far as blackmailing and extortion, verbal as well as physical violence between artists and many other low-life activities. Conclusively - we don't want to have anything to do with hardstyle any more. Do yourself a favour and find another genre.
"

In fact what's all this matter about underground vs. commercial ? In lots of places/forums over the internet people are talking about this, but I couldn't find a 100% right opinion, so, my questions are:

1. What's the difference between being underground (only certain people listen to stuff) vs. commercial & succesfull ?

I'm asking this because, for example, let's say if minimal/tech music
had a huge success over the world & if we could watch minimal music videos on MTV/mainstream stations, then a lot of people could say: "f**k off minimal, now it's commercial crap."

2. Does successful mean commercial ? For example, armada music. Lots are saying: "f**k off armada&armin, they turned into commercial" but it wasn't always like that. They began the label, like any other, and yes, they rised, now milions of views on their youtube channel etc...

3. What's wrong about (Q-Dance) making their "own" brand, their own artists to perform on their events/festivals ?

P.S. sorry for my long post, but that's all about my thread: a music genre that firstly is underground, and then it has success over the public/crowds, and because of this lots of people thinking now it's commercial/mainstream crap...

Where's that vid of the kid with the glasses, gurning his face off at a big, outdoor hardstyle party? Went looking for it last night, couldn't remember the title. It pretty much sums up the genre, with our without the drugs.

Yep. It's always been fistpump music for drugged kids but it used to have some musical integrity and some good tunes (as far as that goes in Hard Dance music )

Nowadays it's pretty much horrible Supersaw Trance with harder Kicks and horribly cheese vocal samples. It makes Armin acolytes shudder, it's become that bad.

Be Cool!

Hummm... so until now what I can understand is that you don't blame the hardstyle music for being "huge" and "succesful&commercial", but you're all saying that the SOUND of hardstyle music kept changing in a BAD way over the last years.

But... how can Kai Tracid or any other artist from the past being called a hardstyle producer? That's (or was) called hard-trance, in the early days it was gabber/hardcore/happy hardcore ( JUST REMEMBER MYSTERYLAND events )etc...

I just can't imagine, when I hear the word "hardstyle" nothing else but Wildstylez, Technoboy, Deepack, d-block & s-te-fan and so on (or off )

No he didn't. It was just that the records he put out on Tracid Traxxx around 99-01 were crucial in defining what hardstyle would go on to sound like a couple of years later, which is why he kept getting booked for hardstyle events. Warmduscher's early releases are a very good example of this:

In fact, towards the late 00s he deliberately took the label in the opposite direction of hardstyle. The later releases went more towards minimal/acid techno, as he was not happy with the way things developed musically. I have not seen one tracklist where Kai plays any of the dutch hardstyle producers, or even any of the old dutch hard house records that led up to this.

Some of the guys signed to TTX at the time would go on to play and produce hardstyle(ish) stuff later, but it was not on TTX or anything Kai was involved in (the only exception to this was ASYS last single for the label, Cheers, but by then ASYS had turned into a solo venture from Frank Ellrich where Kai was no longer involved).
