I don't want this to be a Rubez style jizz-fest, but I'm curious as to what people's favorite Oakenfold sets are.

Yes, it's popular to hate on Oakie, for his awful mixing abilities and for pictures like the cover of Vegas:






He's also undoubtedly been both a good influence on the scene (signing and popularizing BT, Man With No Name, etc.), and an awful one (does this have to be explained?).

Gatecrasher (19-06-99) could be my favorite. From what I've heard so far, his sets from 1995-2000 were class.

Cheesy though it may be, I'm rather fond of Another World.

The last Oakenfold mix comp I recall myself actually enjoying was 'Creamfields' back in '04, and the last set I enjoyed (and really enjoyed, in this case) was his Queensday Mix, 'Oakey's Orange Hours,' a year later. thats a really solid mix. Shows that he was an actual DJ even in 2004 when many people think of him as being in decline....

so much love for oaken and srsly listen to this months perfecto fluoro - he's great

theres the -perenial favourite: "nice one bruv...i said nice one"...*jon vesta gull kicks in*



but i really like another world, GU and travelling....and don't forget his Goa days

he has lots of good mixes on youtube - the full gammit of oakey is represented.

great set. His tracklists are impeccable as usual.

I'm not a huge Oakey fan and none of his sets are "special" to me in the same way Sasha, Digweed, PVD and so on have special mixes. I've listened to the Rojam Mix and the Goa Mix the most, but this one is probably the best I've heard (and plagued with usual accusations from people who were there that it was a re-recording later in the studio):
