Smiling Frog USB Drive Specs for Digital DJs

It seems to me that technically all a digital DJ might need for a gig is their USB Flash Drive with music.

This is a thread for DJs to share what USB Drive they use, and what specs to look for in purchasing one.

I can highly recommend the Corsair Survivor series.

That being said, I've used a cheap 3-year-old plastic housing 32gb USB2.0 drive I still have on my keychain with no issues whatsoever.

I use 2x 32GB Lexar 3.0's loaded w/ rekordbox. No problems what so ever on all pioneer cdjs that allow for rekordbox functionality. Pretty sure most, if not all CDJs, still use 2.0 but meh. Got them anyways.

Thanks kadomony.

I am considering these 2:

Flash Survivor® USB 3.0 32GB USB Flash Drive $49.99
http://www.corsair.com/en/usb-drive...lash-drive.html

LaCie XtremKey® USB 3.0 32GB USB Flash Drive $79.99
http://www.lacie.com/products/product.htm?id=10612

I've read a lot of positive things about both of them, but can't justify the extra $30 for the XtremKey® for strictly music/DJ usage.

I've also read that USB 4.0 likely won't see the market until around 2020..

Another than slower read\write speeds. Corsair flash drive are pretty solid. Get the LaCie if you want faster write\read speeds.

At those prices, both drives are a big rip-off. You can probably get them elsewhere for less. Try newegg.com

Also, all I know is, don't get a Lexar 64 GB or up, and possibly any drive 64 GB or higher, to use with Rekordbox. I even had to send my drives back to Lexar, after both got corrupted and neither Rekordbox nor my CDJs recognized them anymore. But the 32 and 16s that I have have worked just fine.
