Try and get 20 - 20 000 hz response range... an even wider range is better, even though you can't "hear" those frequencies.

crossover freqs are the frequency numbers at which it switches from using the woofer to the cone to the tweeter
so
28Hz<[Woofer]<900Hz
900Hz<[Midrange unit]<2800Hz
2800Hz<[Tweeter]<20000Hz
as you can see, it crosses over the signal once the frequency passes a certain note. you should be able to test it with a tone generator, say.. playing a tone that wavers between 890 and 910 Hz (you should barely be able to hear the woofer hand it off to the midrange)
