Check out a book called "Generation Ecstacy". It covers electronic dance music from the late 80's until 2000. Talks about clubbing and raves. History of the scene, drugs, music. I learned a lot about the history of trance music from it. Good reading..

The book i have "Last Night A DJ Saved My Life" by bill brewster and frank broughton is pretty insightful to how the dj was created. It talks alot about how the club culture started in the various types of music. Might be what u need, might not be. Check it out if your desperate. I loved it.

I have 'Generation: Ecstasy' (got it as a present) and it's really great.
I also have 'This is not a rave' by -- don't remember who (I lent it to someone a year go) and it's so-so.. not as good as 'Gen:E'.
Then there's one called 'Love Parade Story', don't know the author.
And 'Energy flash' by the same guy who wrote Gen:E
.. 'Ecstasy: dance, trance and transformation' is not bad.. if you wanna bring up the topic of drugs in the club culture.

thats exactly the type of thing i'd like to bring up, since a lot of people are uneducated about the whole scene and think its all drugs

i was hoping to find a book along the lines of a story of someones night out to a club type of thing (like Human Traffic movie, or Groove) but everything I've stumbled upon so far, or what you've suggested is basicaly talking directly about my topic :/

I'll check out the ones u suggested brunette.. thx

Check out a book called "Escape Velocity". It's not just about Raves and Clubs but a whole lotta funky stuff. makes interesting reading.

I also read a book once on the nature of energy. Unfortunatly I have no idea what it's called.

It gets into how everything is made of energy and attoms in the body being low frequency energy and how your mood can effect the person sitting next to you etc. It got into raves a little too and some of the stuff people experience.

If anyone's read it and knows the name tell me.

I'm trying to find a book along the lines of a story of someones clubbing experience, a novel, not just a book that talks about the history/culture/etc directly. I wish Human Traffic and Groove were made into novels My topic is supposed to come out of the book I read.. or even if I just find a book about someone with a drug problem that goes to raves/parties/clubs would be fine. So if you've seen Human Traffic and Groove, thats the type of stuff I'm looking for.

Anyone else that has any suggestions I'd greatly appreciate them.. I'm starting to get desperate
