How old is too old to listen to Trance or EDM

I go to EDM clubbs from time to time and sometimes I feel like all weird, especially when I see ppl there that look old or out of place (most of the time it's the way they are dancing and acting)

What do you guys think?

Can older people fit in with EDM? How old is too old?

How do you guys react to them?

I'd like to hear the positives and the negative.

Why could old people not fit in with EDM?

My parents still listen to the music they listened to when they were young. Why wouldn't i listen to trance when i'm 50 years old?

Same thing with clubs and concerts. My dad is 56 years old and he still goes to a local rock club to listen to some of his favorite artists. Why couldn't i go clubbing when i'm 50 years old (honestly i would probably not do it but in theory it's possible to do that)?

Ya but I asked someone older to come with me once and he refused bcuz he said he'd feel all out of place and didn't want to feel like that. Thing is that he's into EDM big time, he just thinks ppl won't want him there. And i've also seen some older ppl there doing some wierd stuff and can sorta understand why he's afraid.

The question still is, do older people fit in at clubs with EDM?

What about at DJ Sets like at Ferry Corsten, Tiesto or Sash and Digger sets?

I mean, I wanna take my friend to it and don't want him to feel weird. So what should I do?

Personnally when I'm 40 I would feel out of place in a club with 90 % of young ppl, no problem with ppl who do it but it's weird for me see 40's ppl dancing techno in a club, almost they could be my parents!

wtf are u talking about? you listen to the music you like. Its not about likeing music you listen to. Mabe you taste of music will change while u get older, but your tase always changes. EDM definately wont be the way it is now in 40 years. I dont see anything wrong with dropping Gouryella @ 70 years old.

Most responsible parents, wont go out on a saturday night and drop a few hits of x if thats what ur wondering...But there isnt a law saying when u turn 40 you must listen to a different style. I imagine our age group just being like older rock age groups. Paul, Paul, ferry, s & d, and tiesto are a generation of music, that we will always listen to.

The thing I love about the EDM scene is that when you go to a club noone really cares how you look or what you do (unless you're acting hostile or something). It's all about having fun and feeling equal.

yea when i went to pvd in nyc, i saw a couple like 35-45 ish danceing and i talked to them for like 20 mins. They said that they just started listening to EDM, and they love it. It was interesting, it didn't seem like they cared, or any one else cared that they were there.

I've seen older people at different club nights i've been to, and i say fair play to them, i'd love to still be into edm in another 20years, i think its great to see people just having a good time and enjoying themselves, whether others think they're out of place or not.

it's all about the music and you baby!

I guess my question is how we all react to them if we see them at EDM clubs?

I'm ok for them listening to edm.
I just wanna get my friend to go out bcuz he's into EDM but he says TA's probly wouldn't want him around.
So I'm trying to find out if that's true from what I read at this thread.

I was thinking of taking him to hear Scott Bond bcuz I think he'll really like it since he raves about "the 3rd earth"
