This kind of ringing is a sign that it was too loud for too long (at least for you), and is a great way towards serious loss of hearing.
Ear doctors recommend that this should never occur, and certainly not for days.
If it happens a lot, bad news.
Whatever you're putting in your ears is insufficient it seems, you need something with a larger dB attenuation.
I don't like earplugs, esp. what they do to the frequency spectrum, even with the tuned kind (don't mean the expensive fitted ones, just regular tuned ones).
BUT, after that Sasha set at Output early last year, I had it for a day plus, and bought my first pair.
Been using plugs pretty much ever since, because I prefer a little infidelity of sound now from the plugs than a lot more of it down the road with physical hearing loss.
-12 dB would seem to be your minimum, -15dB or -20dB might be called for...
