One of the best sets ever. Tiesto credits this gig for making him a household name in the electronic scene. It's also when he's known to have cried (man tears in my opinion).

the word 'tiesto' is written way too many times in this forum.

I would assume that would be a very emotional time indeed.

What can I say. I prefer the days when he had DJ in his stage name.

Yeah but he was never one of the best DJs in the world and there were always better producers than him so why waste so much time on the guy?

stupid statement - you could say that just about every dj/producer. everyone knows he had his stuff ghosted anyway.
he used to play the type of trance that this site was built on - that's why.

No, Oakenfold used to play the type of trance that this site was built on.
Not saying he was shit or anything, just don't understand why he still gets attention on these boards, we "lost" many producers who were better and many djs who were better SO WHY SHOULD HE GET A NEW THREAD EVERY WEEK?

and then oakenfold really dropped off and there was not much else as sasha/digweed et all scrapped all prog trance about that time
and tiesto was the next best thing from 2000 till about the 04 olympics.
listen to them early in search of sunrises - they are pretty good value

I actually remember it was ASOT who filled that void, simply because it was new material every week.
I remember everyone waiting for the next episode with multi-paged tracklist threads.
Yeah Tijs had some nice mixed albums but i don't miss him one bit, i do miss all those producers tho.

These days are long long looooooooong gone. I assume next topic would be about the fall of the Soviet Union back in '91.

However, EDM seems to be political for some people - it's not about the music itself but it's about what the music symbolises, where the music came from, who spins it and how obscure it is.
