very interesting.

http://www.dancingastronaut.com/201...rning-man-2014/

i would love to hear Markus' set, i really hope he uses this as an opportunity to play techno and twisted, but with this now, seems like this event is slowly turning mainstream.

what do your past-burners think of this?

White Ocean camp definitely stepped it up this year! Very excited to see a more eclectic roster showcasing different genres each night. Primarily excited for 5HR Cattaneo b2b Nick Warren and Marco Bailey + Chris Liebing to end it with a band on Saturday. Probably going to check A&B for a bit to see if they actually spin some throwback Tranquility Base type stuff, I'm sure Markus will get pretty twisted.

Have to keep in mind this is just one lineup out of dozens, so...just the tip of the ice berg

I think this stage/lineup is curated by Oakenfold? Did I make that up?

Cool, teenieboppers will not drive out to the playa.

Most people can barely handle 3 consecutive days of a large festival sleeping in a nice comfy bed either at a hotel or at home, and having a nice shower for however long they want etc...

Imo the beauty of Burning Mans music has always been the variety it offers.
You want to listen to techno? cool
You want to listen to house? cool
You want to listen to deep house? cool
You want to listen to dnb? cool
You want to listen to psytrance? cool
You want to listen to trance? cool
You want to listen to dubstep? cool
You want to listen to rock? cool
You want to listen to metal? cool
You want to listen to punk? cool
You want to listen to reggae? cool
You want to listen to classical music? cool
You want to listen to some hippies banging away on bongos and playing some fucking weird ass instruments while making weird ass sounds? cool
etc........................

There is something for everyone.

For me personally my places to party have always been-

Robot Heart
Distrikt
Pink Mammoth
Disorient
Playaskool
Nexus
Disco Knights
Mayan Warrior

All 6 days at that camp looks good to me. I like that they focus on a different genre each night. Unlike Robot Heart with the same boring music night after night :-p

Well, if someone is paying the DJs that is FUCKED UP.

That goes against the ethics of BM. DJs are not supposed to be paid. I know for fact that many huge DJs not only had to pay their way to get to BM and play, but they actually had to basically convince people to let them play at their camp. Though this was mostly a few+ years ago....not sure how the politics have been the last few years -- I have higher priorities.

Markus, Seb Fontaine, etc are all playing at Oakenfold's camp....hopefully he just convinced them to take a break and play. I used to talk to tons of these artists back in the day who said they'd live to find time to go BM and maybe they are just making the time for one weekend -- like their own vacation to play but away from the scene....at least that's my hope.

I feel so old considering how long ago these discussions where and how some of these DJs are just playing there the past couple of years. :-/

Agree 100%. Would be interesting to know what degree the DJ's are being taken care of. Tickets, helicopters to BRC, RV's, etc. Would like to see them rough it a little and get dirty. Most of those guys are used to being pampered.

Markus on the playa sounds like a dream to me. I imagine he will take advantage of the situation and get really twisted.

Nothing "commercial" about if they aren't being paid to play.

I assume(and hope)that these DJ's would play a bit different than their typical main stage festival sets.

yes, hopefully. Markus for sure, not sure about Sander or A&B.

would be cool if they all record their sets and make it available for download.
