Nick Warren got kicked off the stage at Club Vanguard, Soul

Apologies to everyone on the full dance floor last night in Seoul.
Someone who had booked a table had complained to the club that I was not playing commercial music so the club told me to stop after an hour,
words can not explain how i feel about that to be honest

Satan (eek!)

I bet it was Kim Jong Il risen up from the grave.

That would piss me off so much if I was him, I'd keep playing anyways and either that customer would have to leave or they'd have to unplug my equipment and toss me out themselves!

Of course, this kind of thing is completely ridiculous but if it happened to DJ Shadow it can happen to anyone. These stories make me wonder a few things: do the managers of the DJs research these venues thoroughly before agreeing to play at them? If they get paid their full fee even if they're stopped short in their set, do they simply view it as a calculated risk to play at these venues? And how much money must the VIP guests in these places be laying down to warrant throwing an international DJ off the decks? It feels like a club where people can book a table and then pay thousands in one night is probably not the most underground venue in the world. I struggle to believe Jeff Mills would ever end up somewhere with VIP tables...

I would've stopped the music as soon as they told me such shit, and put on some Angerfist at 210 bpm's and call it a night..

This just sounds like the owner of a venue bowing to the power and influence of a wealthy patron who just happened to be in attendance that night. Of course Warren has internationally recognized status, but he doesn't have the same marquee value of a trendy commercial jock to make booting him off stage something that would eventually come back to negatively impact the club's reputation (in any degree that they would care about, at least).

"I was on that VIP table. I gave him enough chances. There weren't enough big bass drops for my liking. Not one single Martin Garrix track was played. Nick Warren wouldn't even pick up the mic and start swearing at the crowd. The final straw was when I realised that no cakes were going to be thrown at the crowd and that Nick wasn't even planning to crowd surf or had planned a quick cameo from Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike. He had to go and I made it known to the club. The club listened to me because I was involved in the scene back in the early days of 2009."

Don't be dumb.

Although Seoul has a rowdy nightlife, it isn't exactly a clubbing destination for cutting-edge dance music. Large EDM festivals have only been done in the last few years but that's the type of crap they want. That or the shitty EDM-influenced K-pop fad that began in 2009.
