Alright so i was playing out on a wednesday night. and the dj before was playing a record..i didnt care for it much..it was old..and not that good..but to each his own. during the second break down..i killed it..but tastefully..and a reason. The track i was bringing in startd breaks..and changes tempo..by like 4 bpm when it turns into the trance..and he got all pissed..saying that could sctrach his record..and blah
i told him there was no disrepect in it..but could it have scracthed his record..i dont think so

You just switched off the turntable?
That won't scratch a record... I did thousands of times here in my bedroom, and all of my records are still in mint condition...
The only thing that could scratch a record, is moving the needle over the record in a way it shouldn't be going, like from the label to the outside...

What a fool. Using his theory, all of his records would be scratched to all shit from cueing. It's the same thing, just doing it faster, although from his point, maybe you shouldn't have done anything to his track, but rather just waited for it to play out

spinning down doesn't scratch the record. it's just like playing a record, except at a slower speed (that keeps on decreasing)....
that guy was a moron. if i was in your position migitymike, i would have punched him. j/k
but seriously, it was good you kept your cool. the worst thing would have been to start arguing with him..
You should have said... look man.. see no scratches...
It only scratches when you do this....
LMFAO!
