As Trance progressed throughout its years with technology....

how is it possible that with more advanced technology, most of the tracks nowadays still have nothing on the older stuff?

I just don't understand it. Is it nostalgia getting the best of me?

Listening to the newer tracks nowadays you can hear a more crisp and clear sound, but it's almost like the "warmth" of the stuff doesn't sound organic.

I heard, when EDM was made with the actual analogue hardware, that's what gave it that more amplified and "warm" sound that the older tracks in the 90s used. Apparently, a laptop DJ software cannot mimic a powerhouse equipment that were the analogue setups.

One thought that come to mind is, all the talented minds who used to create the tracks of the past, have simply just moved on....

There is plenty of music with a similar vibe as trance being made today utilizing modern technology to the fullest extent, its just not called trance directly.

Btw Dj Pulviose, I think you should check Paulinho's music. You can hear some of it in the wip thread in the production forum. He is the new Tiesto, he is the future of Trance.

Here is a picture of the new god of trance.

But don't put too much pressure on the guy, and remember to talk slowly cause he needs some time to elaborate things.

He's quite sharp actually, but he needs time to switch on...

Oliver Lieb - Inside Voices
Steve Roach - Back to Life
Robert Rich - Nest
Sundial Aeon - Minmesis, Hypnosis

Any Solar Fields album in the past decade and pretty much anything on Ultimae records.

Its not hard to find "trance" music in other genres if you have no preconception of what trance music should be.

Even in the 90s there were a lot of digital synths really, it's just that a lot of them were hardware.
