Drunk Cheap improvement for your setup.

wow is all i can say, thanks to my buddy DJ Rann for advising me on this. I asked my rants if i could put a carpet in my whole studio room they said nay so i said what about couple rugs? than they said yay. Low frequencies never been soo smooth and present, damnn man and ii only spent 40 bucks. Next, london 10 treatment from prima acoustic.

My advice, do it!

Pics to come.

Glad to hear it worked out

Although it's not fair to judge as I haven't used it, I'm a little wary of the cookie-cutter/one size fits all acoustic packages that companies are trying to push these days.

It's fine for basic/makeshift setups but my inner acoustic engineer starts grumbling about room specifics, and how can a pre made kit properly work in different rooms, made out of different materials, with different dimensions, and things place in different spaces, with the door and windows in different locations.

I can;t help but think each room should be treated for it's own requirements, not buying a pack that close enough and fudging it.

Btw, what program did you use to do the room mockup?

Sorry breh, but like everything else that you do this is just a placebo.

Rugs won't do shit to low frequencies. This isn't an opinion; it's physics.

Not sure about rugs as they're really thin, but a one or two sheets thick layer of rockwool hung .5m from a solid wall can dampen frequencies almost just as good as when you fill the whole space of .5m with rockwool. I'm guessing this won't apply to the situation of Paulino, but still .

I only recently found out why my room at my parents' house sounded so good opposed to the one I have to work in now. It was because the hallway next to the room acted like a 2.5M deep basstrap, as well as another room acting like an 9M deep bass trap. The beauty of thin walls with a bit of plaster and rockwool opposed to brick walls...

While it won't do as much for low frquecies as other treatments, it will stop of a whole load of splash/unwanted reflections which plague wood/laminate floors and depending on the material of the rug backing (rubber, foam, linen etc) and the type of carpet (loose shag, hook/loop, shaved pile) it will actually help LF by a small degree.

But what I actually think Jaun is referring to is mid (especially mid basslines) seeming smoother as that's what a rug/carpet will help with when it comes to smoothing out reflections and absorbing. I think that's why he thinks bass sounds better; it's actually mid that sounds better.

I can only imagine what more treatment can do. Imo, i'm more interested in treatment than new monitors (barefoot, ATC, PMC etc..) I will be getting $alot worth of panels and traps

I will be getting a small rack table for my TR-8 and Bass Station 2 so there right now in another room
