ok who here agrees with me on this.I mean what the fuck, its like u are just surfing the net and these damn things just pop up every five seconds and sometimes freeze up your browser.I would just love to fukin put pop ups that say eat shit on these peoples comps
Blame the lack of a return on common sized banner advertisements and the time involved in displaying targetted text ads and you find that popups are cheap to deploy by the thousand and result in a higher clickthrough rate than all but a few of 468x60 banner campaigns.
The MOST successful banner ads in the industry are those that say 'Click here - You have 1 message waiting' or the 'Your computer has a virus! Click here to protect yourself' or the 'Hit the monkey and win $10000000' - that is all. Many of these ads like to disguise themselves as common windows dialog boxes cuz the avg surfer has no clue and falls victim to these things.
Popups may suck but look at what they did for x10, lol.
On TA you'll see a maximum of 3 popups and that's if you traverse certain pages in a certain order, with the forums you should only get 1 - assuming you're not blocking cookies - otherwise it has no way to know the last time you saw a popup so it'll keep spitting em out.
(Yes, I love run-on-sentences-with-no-commas)

i've always wondered about pop-up killer programs, i've never d/l because i wanted to know wether or not they also kill pop-ups that you dont want to be closed, like those that are part of a webpage or appear because its a different part of the webpage or popups that are from d/l'ing stuff... hope you get what i mean.

A tip to get rid of the ones that are hard to get rid of, is to hit Alt+F4, closes the program you are currently using (just be careful not to close out the one you are actually trying to use).
