Sorry, nothing original here!
DJ Tiesto - Magik 4: I first listened to this without a tracklisting, and heard Sparkles mixed into Communication -- I could have died happy. The second half of that album is just magic (magik?).
And for 2002:
Armin van Buuren - 004: Transparance: This is a great compilation. Not a patch on Boundaries (is any of his stuff?), but I really enjoyed it. I actually like the first disc better -- less anthem after anthem, and a more interesting mix. Sarah McL - Fear (Hybrid Remix) is a wicked intro.

I gotta agree with you on this. With all his '00' series, the first disc is the one that always gets the caining. The second is always to commercial/boring Except for 001: A State of Trance, which is mindblowing from start to finish on both cds

In keeping with the site i will say John00 for your ears only especially disc 2, which was one of my first introductions to astral projection. When flying into a star kicks in OMFG.
Close runner up, Sasha and Digweed Communicate cd1 trisco musak, cd2 orb once more bedrock remix. Truely memorable cd.

you people are silly
compilations (eg GU's) are not albums...
albums are a collection of an artists work, not a compilation (mixed or unmixed) or random tunes...

well if its any music my favourite album is '...and justice for all' by metallica. i only have 3 trance albums, 'out there and back' by paul van dyk, 'from beyond' by push and 'another world' by astral projection. and neither of them are from this year hehe. and i like them all the same
and nervous: agree with you on 'for your ears only'! that second disc is seriously one of the best i have, it surprised me so much, i love it!
