creating textures fx/atmosphere

ive been listening to a lot of edx, dinka, chris reese, stephen j kroos,

and other artist similar to that sound lately , and i noticed besides the melodic content there are other elements that are just as important that add to the vibe of the song, and i just wanted to know from some of you that know what im talking bout , what your approach was to creating these sort of backround textures in your own mixes, cheers.

Atmosphere to me is one of the key "binding" elements of any track you make. But it also can fill head room where you need it as well.
To me, I try to use white noise, risers and sweeps at points that will accentuate a particularly emotional part of a song or where you want to impact a point.
For me as well I tend to use it as a filler for the intro into main verse. Sometimes taking the same rising white noise, duplicate and reverse it going out.

To me, the background atmospherics are often the most interesting part of a track. I use a lot of single-note evolving drones and effected white noise. I also like to duplicate some main element of a track, chop it up and then run it through some glitchy FX.

you are absolutely right , its kind of like they do most of the work, but don't really get the credit that the lead instruments get.. i don't know heres a track i have been working on where i have been starting to explore some of those ideas ...feel free to check it out or not, i know this isn't exactly the promotion section but just for the sake of this thread i thought i'd post it.
