camel audio are very good

If you just want some vocal sample libraries, Function Loops has a nice selection for trance. They gave one of these away for free a month or so ago and the quality seems decent. Prices are decent, too.

I have the Alchemy and VOP and they're both very good in their own right, but each one serves a different purpose. The Alchemy dream voices expansion is best for resynthesis, VOP is primarily just ethnic melodic phrases.

Yea ummmmm, I guess I was thinking of just having the Uhh Ahhh Ohhhh Ihhhh , having some bizarre middle eastern or even uh some celtic type of soloing wails would be cool.

Voices of Passion has plenty of those. If you have Kontakt, check out the 8dio (formerly Tonehammer) libraries, particularly Barbary for Celtic vocals.

lol those sound cool, i just checked it out. tigris for 80 euros isnt bad, sounds quality, I wonder how many times producers have tried using those ones....hmmm

ok ummmmm heres what I'm getting at....I want to have a good library that is elastic enough to make my own style of vocal chops and combos like generic oh ah uh, but I dont want stuff that is so recognizable and played out.....like the tigris one sounds EPIC, but it must be so recognizable idk....like some of the cuts in it, i want the vocal to accent my tune, i dont want my tune to be backing up an epic vocal cut.....

like some of the cuts on the requiem one, they sound like they would be more for cinematic stuff, they have an actual musical progression and arrangment u know what i mean?

I think you'll find the VOP library a little too inflexible, since they're essentially sampled phrases, and not really a lot of ooh/aahs. Of course, you can always bounce them to audio and change the phrasing, melody, formant, etc. in Melodyne, Antares, etc. I think the Kontakt libraries will give you more of what you're looking for because they tend to give you more flexible keyswitches, the ability to build your own phrases, not to mention that its sample editing and scripting will open up a world of new options to you.

Once again, really thanks for the advice. Is that a a VST though? Like it's not just a sample bank but it's like a VST sampler plugin? See, I was thinking I would/should try to stay native with ableton and try and use its 'SAMPLER'(it's called sampler) as the morphing/cutting tool.....it's really powerful....the problem is that if it's not made for ableton as a "pack" like Olyumpus choir was....it might be just easier and better to use a 3rd party plugin........this is important decision for me, because I really do not want to use any 3rd party stuff. I feel like ableton suite has all the tools. But to get real flexibilihty with the solo vocals, I don't know if ableton has that capactity, at least it might be doable but iut might take alot of extra work....

The thing is.....like you said, key change flexibility and keeping a good quality tonality is important to me....this could work with a small variety of different samples but alot of flex and maintaining the integrity of the sample.....or VS.....you have LOTS of different samples over a wider set range but there isnt really flexibility with each sample.

You see with my Olympus choir, it's set up specific for abletons sampler, so you have ah ih eh oh ooh mmm, and within each bank there is like over a hundred tone changes so you can change the key perfectly and maintain all the tonal quality....for choir though you arent going to be trying and warping morphing the samples really, it's more structured....but solo voc, it would have to have some good flexibility to really play around with it....buying a bank and using the ableton sampler would work, the sampler is really amazing...it's got lfos everything, multiple routing, pitch envelopes, everything, but it's not SPECIFICally designed for vocals....so this leafs to the 3rd party plugin thing i was asking about....is that the case? if it's just a bank....no plugin, then i don't have any choice, i have to use th eableton sampler.....but im' going to have to import and hand-design the whole ranges, and fade ranges etc for each sample...that's going to be a serious bitch. hmmmm....so thkning this through....idk, i hope theres a 3rd party plugin, but i dont want to use plugins...even when i use Max4live, it's so fucking undependable. it crashes, max is a piece of garbage if you ask me...theres way to many bugs in it, and it sucks the cpu dry.

Bumping this old thread for a free Kontakt vocal library called "Clara" from Stefano Maccarelli. Lots of nki's already mapped out with vocal phrases, pads, fx, legato solo lines, etc.

It requires Kontakt, but it uses 744 individual vocal files (wav format), so you could use them in any sampler.

hire someone or don't. using vocal libraries is the realm of stock documentary facepalm music . It is the tool you use when you have to generate something to remind people of a something foreign and even tho you fucked up the two countries and anyone who actually lived in the parts of the world you are trying to pain with a shitty EW library , were they not busy stoning women and cutting peoples' heads off would probably saw derka derka.

I have to agree with Clooney on this. Any vocal sample packs, or even VSTs that allow a bit more freedom, are instantly recognizable. Unless you're covering or remixing a song, I'd rather hear something new.

I know it sucks to have to find someone to do vocals for you, but in the end, at least it's unique, your own, and you have ultimate control over the final outcome (of course, that depends on who you work with).

It reminds me of ads, and I hear a stock patch from a synth, and I think "oh great, that person paged through the presets to get the 'gritty' one".

But, that's just my opinion. If you can take something to a whole new level, by all means, please do, it has worked before!
