Last night Cosmic Gate rocked Cape Town and this was one of the tunes that did some serious damage. When i first heard it come in i figured it was "the wave"to but then all of a sudden it broke into an almost identical sample of of "twisted".Little trainspotter me was off in a flash to do a little investigation..but obviously it was a white label and I'm terrible at rotating my head at 45rpm. Anyway when i was getting my records signed I asked about it and Bossi said that it was Svenson and Gielens mix of the record i was getting autographed (ie.the wave/raging)

They never said whether it would be released..perhaps on the same vinyl as Cosmic Gate remix of shitty "answer the question" but i doubt it.(was disapointed that they didnt play their remix of that)

All in all not exactly a creative piece of work from Gielen and Co. since as i said the tune just uses an identical break to twisted..but it was enjoyable even tho perhaps not a work of art.

Anybody know anything more..?

Brooklyn Bounce - Bring It Back (Svenson & Gielen Remix)

It's the same style I guess, after Twisted has lost it's energy, their remixes now sound the same, that's a little poor.

Yeah, but Clubbin' On Sunshine was released in 2000. Back then that sound was still fresh and producers like Svenson and Gielen were on top of the game with tracks like Velvet Moods, L'Esperanza, We Move Like Shadows, etc. Now it's two years later and everyone's moved on somewhat, refined their style... except them. Of course they're extremely successful in mainstream clubland, so in that respect they've done well for themselves. But it's a long, slippery road down into commercialism.

Svenson & Gielen also did a remix of the Shog 2nd dimension and it also has the same sound as twisted.

A lot of Svenson & Gielen's remixes have been pretty lame lately, my prime example of this is thier remix of Blank & Jones - Watching the Waves >> it's sounds so similar to The Beauty of Silence it is rediculous...but it lacks that certain kick and spirit that BOS had, so it was just really lame.

However, the Svenson & Gielen remix of Thrillseekers - Dreaming of You is REALLY GOOD imo, so I guess they just have their good and bad ones!
