Yeah I don't get it either -- why is Richie playing at some event that Flo isn't even going to go to all of a sudden a big deal?
We get it, you don't like Hawtin.
But obviously some people in the so-called "scene" happen to like him -- or at least realize he can throw the fuck down, or else he wouldn't keep getting primo bookings at some of the best parties that you'll find in the states.
Hawtin might be a douche but I cannot ever understand someone calling him boring. I know on RA and other like-minded communities, his style is considered "boring." But in real life, at actual events where people are gettin' down to his music, it's a different story. And him being "boring" at a Life and Death party is not only funny but somewhat ironic. L&D is the most boring "dance" music label going.
I think this entire booking is weird. Hawtin there just makes it more strange, but not for the same reasons that was suggested earlier in this thread.
