assigning midi controller

when i use the JDXI as a midi controller, i assign ADSR on a VST to 4 knobs on the JDXI. but if i load another instance, the ADSR knobs no longer work - i would need to assign them all again.

is there anyway to get them assigned permanently?

i made a base file to keep, so i could load it up with the parameters saved, and i would just save the project under a different filename... but that doesn't solve the multiple instance problem.

can this be fixed?

create a Macro. It should appear in Ableton as the first Grey circlue under the on/off for the the device.

So, insert synth/device. In Ableton you'll see the illuminated yellow button indicating device is on. Right under that is "macro". Click that. You'll see like 8 different macros that you can assign to a given function within the synth e.g.; ADSR.

Click "map". Select botton on Synth you wish to Automate. Go through all automations that you want.

From there, save macro. It will be saved in your Ableton library. Should come up from here on out. So long as you select the same mapped macro.
