Whats up with Data Records

I've got three records from Data now, and, with Massive missing the first beat, and all the tracks seemingly pitched down a hell of a lot, I am not happy.

Massive's bpm at +10 is just 150
Flutlicht remix of Dreaming of You is maxed at 148 bpm
SHOKK remix of Hope & Wait is similarily slow

WHY???????

they aren't pitched down - they are supposed to be that slow - why would you be playing tracks at +10 anyway?

Dreaming of You should be 134bpm - there ain't nuffin wrong with the records - that's the way they are meant to be - as for Massive, i don't know why the first beat is missing *shrugs*

I have no idea what the hell your complaint is......

On a side note Data is a pretty good label who now is achieving some chart success. They've always been a favorite of mine and will continue to do so as long as they keep bringing the hot vinyl

Cool

all u seem 2 wanna do is bloody winge. massive is fine, the first beat is quiet, sounds more like an intro beat, same on my itwt vinyl so check your facts. hope and wait and dreaming of you are at their produced speeds. seriously, get a life.

Crikey, a guy cant put forward an opinion without it being dissed around here.

Massive aside, I got SHOKK and Flutlicht remixes on my Data 12"s, and they are considered Hard Trance producers. Try playing a Dumonde track at 136 and see how crappy it sounds. Granted, my usual pitch for playing is between 145-148 to keep the crowd interested (I hate dancing to music that is too slow, makes you feel inhibited). London does tend to be a bit more pitched up due to all the hard house round here, but that leaves me with only warm-up sets, as alot of my tracks cant keep up with 150+

I reckon 140 is a good speed for pitch setting of 0, that allows for 126-154 bpm roughly.

Just a thought...

Great tracks on the label, could just be a little bit faster (Vandit are seriously speedy)

I guess it is all relative to how you listen to tunes and where you go clubbing. Being from Cape Town originally, we were pretty pacey with our music, so I'm used to pounding, driving and energetic trance.

Anyone heard of Marcos - Beat Junkie on Rising Up? Thats got pace!!
