I'm not trying to steal TAs away or anything but i sort of left TA and now the only forum-like place i participate in is reddit. i checked for a tranceaddict sub by typing in "r/tranceaddict" on a whim the other day and it ends up that BTG tried making one about six months ago but nobody joined.

i decided to come back here because again, on a whim i checked out r/EDM and my fucking god dude what are people listening to nowadays. there was an r/EDM top 100 dj poll and i didn't know who the top 3 DJs were. a guy asked if it was OK to wear a native american headdress to a party and i was like, wtf, is that a thing? kids these days wear headdresses to house parties now? ooh i get to exercise this smiley again ...neat.

I browse Reddit but I post there extremely rarely. Most of the boards are so big and the look so bland that it feels like much less of a "community," even if some of the jokes can be amusing and the content interesting. I don't think I've ever checked out the EDM subreddit. Sounds kind of amusing from how you described it.

TA has been the only forum I've ever frequented.

Considering how hard it is to stop doing so, I won't allow myself to forum a new addiction.

I used to browse its photo gallery offshoot (Imgur), but eventually moved on.

As for music, I use Spotify and Facebook to keep me updated with the music I like, for the most part, and I do think there was something of a generational transition in EDM. I can't recognise more than a handful of names myself

i agree about the "community" thing i felt the same way, it being so big in the generalized front page pages that nobody knows who you are, but that's just kinda how it goes. i mean 4chan takes that to an entirely whole new level, in comparison. i dunno a big artist i kept seeing was "the chainsmokerz" or something like that. :shrugs:

it's so crazy to me. so crazy. that steve aoki is this huge everyone wants to be associated with him dude when he's been considered a laugh of a producer on TA since back in the day. that tiesto is still hovering in the top 10. and that a derivative track with annoying stuck up bitch vocal samples gets "hot".

I'm almost certain I've seen Swamper on there.
