I voted "0.30 to 1.00"; I think any longer and I'll definately screw up. Admiration for those who voted "1.00 to 1.30"!

i voted for 1:30 + ... but i don't usually mix mealodys... you know that like... last 16-8 bars where it's just drums in a song? well i record it with my 303... then play that after the first song is over... and usually go til the second song breaks down... erm... yeah...

so i dunno if my vote counts...

Voted for 30 - 60 Seconds
What I usually do is start off with the EQ on -24db
then i switch the Hi frquencuies, let in a little bass, starts turning the Med frequency,
a little more bass, I lower the first tracks Med and Hi frequencies graduatly, equal the basses and kill the first track's bass just in the right second
all and all
it takes about 45 seconds

I like really long and smooth mixes, which are often over 1:30. Someone mentioned this not long ago i think, but one thing I sometimes do is put on a really long track, then mix in another shorter track, play that through (whilst mixed in to the other one) and the second, shorter one finishes before the first, longer one, and so I then get another record and mix that into the first one! Sounds very good when you get it right. But i'm a perfectionist, so IMO I don't do this very often!

I voted for 1:30 and more..
Usually my mixes are about 1:30-2:00 minutes, but it really depends on the style and the tracks structure. It can vary from half a minute to more than 3 and 4 minutes..

I voted for 1:30 mins +, thats usally how long mine are, sometimes a bit shorter, but Its FAR easier in Traktor than it is with TT's, if I could try spinning the tracks I use in Traktor, I would prolly fuck up.

voted for 0030 - 1000 minute!

I think i will go over the 1 min mark a lot but think that 1 minute is the average of my mix. But more under 1 minute then above it!

I put 30 - 1:00, but it varies on the tracks.
Some tracks I just jump in at a good spot and it's all over in .5 of a second. Others I'll ease in the Hi, then Low(My mixer is Hi-Low only) then take out the Low then high of the first, this can take as long as 2:00 min in some songs if i got the base perfect the whole way. I do DJTJ's mix of one song over another sometimes but you have to really pick your tracks, I love to do it with the vocals of one track only sometimes.
My FAV trick is to cut over a song with some vocals like from Marco V godd, so thats all they hear, then bring in the first song again only stronger, let it play out and mix in the second. Do it right and ppl go NUTS!

Do you mind if you go through the process one more time? I don't really get you..sorry. But this new mixing technique sounds interesting

1:30+

I am suprised that some people have such short mixes.. if you want a long mix you have to get the pitch right!!!

Usually songs break off with about 1:20-1:40 to go..
and intro start around in that time too
