Ready for the 3 day weekend. Ended up working Saturday and Sunday last weekend. I know, first world problems, right? Hitting the Glenlivet 12 year single malt later tonight. Might watch The Magnificent Seven remake, too.

I work Saturday and Sunday, and a night shift on Monday, but then I'm off for a week. Weekend shift premiums + time and a half, woop!

I'm on day 2 of a sorely needed 5 day weekend, since Monday and Tuesday are public holidays here. Saw Star Wars yesterday, and today I'm about to go down and do a huge Christmas grocery shop and to stock up on booze, since everything will be closed tomorrow.

Alone, I sit, pond'rous and pensive, toiling over pointless missives to those I cherish in mind and in deed, those that I've mistreated through selfish greed. It's early and I've penetrated the peach I left upon the dining table last Wednesday, it'll last another three days at least. Stubborn snow is allocating along the bottom of the clouds above, awaiting the cull and the cue to dip to deluge, to trap wandering thoughts within their hearth and beside their pondering hopes.

It's here that I remain by the solitary green lamp arching over a burrowed head and a furrowed brow, frowning over stupid lines of loping and lilting prose to those I've forgotten. Those that are so smitten with the fact they can't remember me. I'm gonna tell them I've been spending far too much time being saucy and approachable to approaching dogs whose owners are probably providing me with curious stares as they cast silent aspersions upon my possible devious molestations.

They won'y write back, probably. And that's good.

Just heading back out to my parents' house to enjoy the Holiday weekend with them. I grew out of the whole "decorating the Christmas tree" and hanging up stockings and such back when I was a teenager. But after how long this year has dragged and how much overtime I been getting, all I want to do when I get there is turn the lights around the tree on and stare at all the ornaments for a few hours as I sip up on some hot tea. I feel like I haven't appreciated the season enough these past several years.
