Happy new year all!

Here are some deep house tracks I mixed over the holidays. The sound I was aiming for is brooding, melancholic, atmospheric but with a tinge of hopefulness (towards the end).

The inspiration behind this mix is the idea of the 'tyranny' of existence: we don't choose to exist, existence is thrust upon us. And on top of that we are bound by the laws of physics, within the confines of space and time. We don't choose where (in space) we are born, and in what period (time) of human history. Any conception of us being masters of our destiny is thus a false perception. The purpose of our existence is thus a grand mystery we must try and solve.
