Fuck Fuckity Fuck Fuck.
So my "buddy" calls me a few hours before the show, and says "Sorry, i have to go to vancouver, i can't do the show tonight, can you please call my replacement?" he said i could still spin, but with some other dude, i have never met before.
It's not like anyone listens to college radio, but still, i wanted to play for my friend, i respect him as a musician and a DJ, and i was all psyched about it. then he has the nerve, not only to cancel on me only a few hours before the show (to go see some other DJ he's seen tons of times) but he also asks ME to call his replacement!
I feel shafted.
What do you guys think, is that assine? inconsiderate? or just a friend asking for a favour i should have just done?
in fairness he was asking me to call the replacement because he had to go and the phone was busy.

I did a weekly two hour mix on my local college radio station this summer. It was pretty fun... radio's interesting, though, since you're spinning live for an audience, but at the same time it's like you're really not, since you can't see anyone. It makes it more difficult since you can't feed off the crowd, but it also means that you can play whatever you want since you have no idea how many people are listening, and you can't really do anything about it. Good times, though. |
i used to spin on the radio too
i think our mix show had a listening base of about 10,000+ people
which was pretty good for me...before i had started radio i was doing crappy parties like weddings, graduations, ect...
right now im just trying to finish school
