Hung out with my grandparents and watched some old family videos. It's really nice to spend time with my grandparents as an adult, they cherish all those old memories and sharing them with them is wonderful. You never know how much time they have left and it's good to remind them that you still love them and think about them during our busy adult lives.

As someone who's already grandparentless, I couldn't agree more.

Yesterday night I did something similar, and went to cinema with me mum (and my wife) because she (my mother) wanted to watch The Beauty and the Beast. Now, I don't understand why someone would even consider making a 3D musical, so I really wasn't expecting that, but it was nice to spend some quality time with her.

Of course, I just wish Emma Watson didn't sing that much.

G'luck with the recertification

Wait, how often do you need to recertify?

Went to some terrible, terrible bars last night with guys from work. The weather is forecast to be beautiful all day today, so I've got a three hour walk planned across the countryside. I'm expecting my hangover to kick in just when I'm at the point of no return.

In Copenhagen with my girlfriend, visiting her family and seeing friends. Trying to do some more tourist stuff this time around. Fifth time here and still haven't been in a fairy tale castle!

After all these years, I finally watched the movie "The Professional" or "Leon - The Professional". It was...good, but different. I watched the theatrical cut. I'll go back and watch the extended cut soon, just to see if it adds anything worthwhile. Extended cuts are often very hit or miss.

It's sacrilege to refer to it as "the professional". It was released as Leon(The professional) but dumbed down for marketing purposes to the Professional for the USA.

Probably one of Oldman's best performances. I believe the main differences between the cuts are the relationship between Matilda and Leon, and in the original cut, she goes on hit jobs with him and offers to have, but this was deemed to risque for theatrical release at the time, given she was 12 and the casting director already felt she was too young for the role..

The penultimate scene is still one of the best rolling set pieces ever committed to film. Such a good film.

Le Grand Bleu, also by Luc Beson and starring Reno is also well worth a watch.

Thank you for the recommendation! I enjoyed Reno in "Ronin" as well.

It's a shame, he went off in recent years, but his earlier films are great.

Check out the Crimson Rivers / Les Rivières Pourpres - great thriller with him and Vincent Cassel.

Talking of french cinema and Vincent Cassell, if you haven't seen it yet, check out La Haine (the hate). Low budget masterpiece that put Cassel on the map, and weirdly, it's theme has never been more prescient.
