napster sucks...

good question... for awhile I was using audiognome to connect to the opennap##.musiccity.com servers which often had 30000+ gigs of mp3s per server and I was able to find almost anything I looked for... But recently those servers have stopped working. At least, I can't seem to connect to them anymore. I think they have just become too popular and are getting flooded or something.

Napster is getting worse and worse. Months ago when I used napster, the average napster server sometimes had up to 10000 gigs of mp3s... but these days you're lucky to get onto a server with 3000 gigs. Last night, the best I could find was about 1500 gigs. Now, that's just sad. They're blocking lots of keywords too. It's really annoying.

I briefly tried audiogalaxy once, but I wasn't able to find some stuff that I was looking for... maybe I'll have another look at it though. I prefer downloading at higher quality 160+ bps. I avoid 128 and lower if I can.

Sal

I'm using Newtella. However i think it is very slow and allot of the downloads fail. I don't know whether more ppl have the same problems but i would give audiogalaxy a try.

I'm using Napster still, still works pretty damn good. I've also been using Audiognome alot too. Trust me, Audiognome is the best Napster-clone out there.

napster is done for two days ago 700,000 files. yestarday 300,000 files shared today a nice number 69,000. What is happening . This file filtering thing has gone way too far. I remeber the old dayz of 2 million filez per napster server. Napster was good but blame politics. I believe if record companies are doing just as well the hell with them. napster and file sharing is the way to go.

exception is smaller artsit but mp3.com people still make money with free dl's so whast that about???
