Didn't know this was going around, but some young EDM kid anmed Porter Robinson is playing some old tracks from the 90s and early 2000s, but on a modern platform and stage for many newcomers and old guys to enjoy. His set isnt completely old school but he's dropped some good stuff.

Virtual Self, which Robinson describes as “ethereal, cyber and nostalgia,” was created after he struggled to produce music similar to his first Porter album, Worlds. “It was a really depressing couple of years, because I was writing music constantly and keeping almost nothing,” he says. That's just part of his set, which is mixed in with some newer generic modern music, but the fact that he's playing some 90s acid is pretty impressive. The crowds in multiple videos went sorta nuts over "Trippin Out" by Misjah and Groovehead which is interesting to see. I'm sure some of those people never heard a 303 and 808 before. Most people were familiar with Castles in the sky and Ayla though. I would say it's a decent approach to opening the door to modern EDM kids but there's still way more tracks he could be playing to blow the crowd away.

He’s really talented. Even when he was producing progressive house/trance, you could tell he was a cut above in terms of production. I give him credit for trying something different with Virtual Self sort of like what Andrew Bayer just did on his recent album. Exploring new ground as a producer.

I saw Virtual Self a couple weeks ago here in Seattle and earlier in the summer at a festival called Paradiso. none of the early 2000 cheese , but a lot of great banging tech trance.

Highly recommend seeing VS life if you can!
