Fluff Prog in the late 00's

I thought the TA crowd might enjoy the latest episode I made about late 00's fluffy progressive house.

Do you guys have any other recommends that are along the lines of the records I talked about here? I need time-tested can't fail best of the best picks only between 2005 and 2008.

What about the stuff from Michael & levan and Stiven Rivic? Their stuff from 2006 - 2010 was pure gold.

I knew instantly what sound you meant by "fluff prog", but I'm very surprised you didn't mention James Holden and particularly his Balance CD as being the cornerstone of this style, especially as it came a lot earlier than most of these choices.

I also don't think there's any real connection to the ADID sound, which Beatport has decided is called "organic house". Yes they're both "soft" and relatively happy sounds, but they're completely different in both production technique and the general lineage of the producers involved. There's more of a connection to the Lost & Found / Guy J sound, as Guy J got going in this period and carried forward the general idea of throbby bass combined with dreamy melodies.

Altogether though, this era of prog was largely terrible and did lasting damage to the genre that it's only just starting to recover from. Any time you hear an ultra-bland, twinkly, plodding Guy J or Guy Mantzur or whoever set with absolutely no bollocks or nastiness in it and wonder how we went from "progressive" meaning tracks like Bluefish - One to this, you can thank this era.

Lol it defintely blew prog off the map for years. To point and blame one source I’d say Bedrock did the most damage. I have mild contempt for ADID and Shanti. I’m not going to sell what I have but im not buying anymore out of principle. I suppose if any of them
started selling for $40 plus I’d quietly exit and direct my attention elsewhere .

To the folks that added some picks above I’ll check them out when I get home later

Just a side note, Chaim is pronounced like "Jaim-" in the Spanish name Jaime. Or like "Heim-" in "Heimlich maneuver," if you don't want to do the throaty H sound.

Nice video.
