Arrow Disturbing Dreams

Last night I had a dream where I was cycling along a footpath when I noticed a dead girl lying on some raised stone pillar things. The girl was covered in grey rotting flesh and looked very thin. The next thing know I am at home and I've put the dead body on the kitchen floor. Then I remember her head was cut or ripped off. I had to think fast before anyone else came home so I wrapped the head in a white cloth and threw it in my bedroom, ran downstairs, picked up the body and went into the garden to find a place to bury it. I remmber I was looking for ages to find a place to bury it. Then I went back inside to fetch the head, but I couldn't find it! Then my parents came in and found the head in a plastic tub. my mum asked me about it and said she was quite annoyed! I thought they were gonna think I murdered her so I explained what happened and they accepted it. then I woke up!

This dream is very disturbing to me and I'd really like to know what it means. Have you ever had any disturing dreams?

Uh, sounds kinda scary... I'd never have the courage to pick the body up... Seen way too much horror films

This means... Um... First of all, clearly you and your parents are in good relations and you trust them, since they accepted your explanation easily. The body thing (wanting to bury it) is pretty noble of you... Don't know what it means.

I'm not sure that dreams actually mean anything (I think the scientific perspective now is that they're just the mind's visual representation of random sensations in the body..... or something along those lines) but I'll give this one a go.

First we'll take the Freudian perspective that dreams are a means of wish fulfillment. One of the most important things when analysing dreams (apparently) is the emotion involved, not necessarily the imagery, so lets look at that:

You're horrified at seeing a dead girl
You bring her home without knowing why (confusion?)
You start panicking
You become worried that your parents will find the head
Your mum was annoyed when she found the head (how do you remember feeling when that happened?)
You told her and she accepted the story

Thus, given that I'm going along with the assumption that dreams are a means of wish fulfillment, I'm looking at the last part of the dream: you told your parents about something they have either found out or you're scared that they're going to find out. Have you been hiding anything from your parents recently? Any "heads" under the bed so to speak?

Perhaps try and work out what the dead girl may signify. Think of the emotions you felt when you saw the dead body, and try and think of some other time recently you may have felt the same emotions. It doesn't have to have anything to do with death, just picture the emotion, then try and relate it to something in your life now. In fact, doing the Johnathon Edwards thing, I'll tell you what you should be looking for in as vague a way as possible:

There is something horrible that you're carrying around with you (metaphorically) except you don't know why, nor do you know why you decided to "bring it home" with you (perhaps you had an ex-girlfriend that you tried to hide from your parents?). You tried to isolate the "head" (most important part) of this problem, and then went to much effort to try and hide it. When you couldn't find a place to hide it in the "garden" (what does the garden signify? What do you normally associate the garden with?) so you hid it in your part of the house, in your inner sanctuary, where you would expect no-one else to find it (could correspond with a secret kept so close to you, that you would never expect anyone else to find it). You are worried about your parents discovering this "secret", and are worried about what their reaction may be, or that they may blame you for it when it wasn't your fault. However, you yearn to tell them this secret, and hope that they will accept your explanation for it, which is why you ended up telling them in the dream.

Long story short: you have a horrible secret that you've been trying to hide from your parents, you're worried about them finding out and blaming you for it, when all you really want to do is to be able to tell them about it and have them believe you. My suggestion is that you tell them this secret, so as to get this baggage off your chest.

How was that?

(Disclaimer: I know fuck all about interpreting dreams, and all that was done off the top of my head, so take it seriously at your peril)

I have never remembered a dream in my life. I don't even know what it's like, it seems totally foreign to me to think that you have these memories of thinking something was happening, and then it wasn't really happening.

Same here, I havnt been able to remember dreaming in years(assuming I do dream). A few years ago I would remember it a little bit right when I woke up so i'd write it down before getting out of bed. But now i dont remember anything.

Everyone dreams, just not everyone remembers. I remember hearing that the only people who dont dream when they sleep are psychotics because their brain is fucked.

Damn that's some freaky shit there.
I have weird and disturbing dreams as well sometimes. Once I had a nightmare about getting shot seven times and being run over by a truck.
The weird thing about dreams is that you NEVER die, no matter how many times you get shot or get injured...

that's very strange. dreaming is the greatest, its so weird some times.. random people appear, strange things happen, and you suddenly can be in a different environment without even caring. Also, every dream I remember, I can see myself in third person (i dont see it out of my own eyes)

I've been killed in 3 dreams before.. now that is strange strange stuff.

Been shot in a supermarket, from a man asking where the lemons were. He shot down my sister and my mother, then shot me in the head and I instantly woke up.

Been killed by ninja's with guns (???), right in my side yard. it was strange because I thought it was my side yard, but it really didnt look like it at all. When I got shot I actually saw from my own eyes all this blood and swirling stuff, and then I woke up.

and have got into a high speed car accident. This one was crazy because you actually think it's happening. I could hear all the sounds, experience the pain (but not physically) and my heart was beating very fast. Then of course I woke up.

I remember alot of my dreams.. one trick is to set your alarm, wake up to turn it off, and fall back asleep. i usually remember what im dreaming once i wake up for the second time.

There was this time when I saw my brother get shot by this guy. This guy was dressed in black and white. I run over and struck that guy in the head. The really disturbing thing was that the guy turned out to be my DAD!! I woke up after that.
