Please Help! (Sound editing)

Hello all, very glad to be here,
So... here's my question. On my hard drive i have a lot of dj sets ripped from some cd compilations. And those compilation were on disc-at-ones mode of course and the mp3s are ripped seveparately each track (not the whole set in 1 mp3). Here all the problem is - its ok to play them on winamp using the plug-in but it's not enjoyable to listen to it the my mp3 discman becasue of the gaps between tracks. My aim is to make those sets become a 1 mp3-file each. Every mp3 (when making it from the original wave file) has a very short silence gap in the beginning of track. When making a huge file from tracks using wavelab or anything there are gaps left between mp3s. Of course i could make it by myself (cut the beginning of each mp3) but the sets are too many. Can you advice something? The best solution is that the program finds the silence gaps and cuts it automaticly but i don't know how to organize that. Or maybe there is another way of making huge mp3 sets from smaller mp3s? Please give me an advice and sorry for my english. Need much more practice.

Thanks in advance,
Mouldy.

ahh ive been in your shoes

What I did was use Sound Forge and took all those mp3 files and made them into one big file

i made it into a wav file then converted back to MP3

You will manually have to cut and paste one track after another...each time removing the gaps that an mp3 creates

it takes some time but in the end its worth the time invested

With Nero or other burning software you can put markers at the begin and end of tracks. I already know you have to experiment with the markers to get it right but that's the easiest way because you can check it by playing the mp3 in the program

Your easiest solution is to go and get the winamp plugin that eliminates the 2 second gap for you. I couldn't find it in a quick search on www.winamp.com but I know that it exists!!
