Angry Junkie XL's gear stolen

From JunkieXL.com:

quote:
NOVEMBER 21, 2002: STOLEN EQUIPMENT:

Devastating news!

Tom's live gear has been stolen from his studio in Amsterdam, only two days before his grand performance at the Dutch Dimension-event at the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam! Under these sad circumstances the event has been cancelled. It is not clear how Junkie XL's gear has been stolen, but we're asking all music lovers and Junkie XL-fans in Holland and around the world to look out for the following gear: Akai MPC 4000 in a rugged case (Nook), Yamaha AW 4416 (power button is missing and the red master fader is loose), also in a rugged case (Nook), MPC 2000 XL (the power button is missing) and a black hardbag with cables and feeding (plastered with a Soulfly-sticker). For the person who can lead us to the stolen gear we offer a reward of € 2500,-. Please mail all information to: [email protected]

"Luckily" it's only his live gear, not his full studio equipment...

he earned so much money for a little less conversation so that would be no problem to buy new equipment

The MPC's are sequencers. You can replace them, but given the nature of the equipment, they were likely to contain his live-set. Which is gone now. So even if he had new gear, he'd still have lost his live-sequences.

Theft is indeed high in Amsterdam at least I know. There probably were things in that equipment that were stored. Plus some synths and stuff are rare if they're older so a new one may take awhile to find. This sux, it's happened to BT, Hybrid, and now Junkie XL.
