Idea converting friends to trance

i know that most of my friends are not into electronic music, let alone listen to it 75% of the time. efforts to convert some of them or at least foster an appreciation for 'my music' as opposed to theirs have met with minimal success. im just wondering if y'all actively convert those around you into electronica fanatics or if you just let your differences be...

anyone?

I've let them be for a while but I usually try to find others who already enjoy it. I know an exchange student from the UK and we really started talking after he saw the PvD and Vandit stickers on my bookbag.

Although...I got a close friend into it quite a few months ago, and she burned a CD for someone that included a few vocal, melodic, uplifting tracks on it that I gave her. And this other person went crazy over it. So now I plan on corrupting her completely.

Addicted as I am I had to take some wicked techno sets to my g/f (Liebing, Picotto) she hates fucking commercial trance but went nuts for that stuff

I play my music and I talk to people if they develop and intrest in it, but I don't usually run around telling people they need to hear trance/electronic. One of the appeals of this kind of music is that it's sort of undiscovered and privatized. Think for a second that everyone you knew and almost everyone you saw throughout the day knew all about trance. All the poppy record stores had shelves full of electronic music and all the radio stations had been blaring 'Ligaya' for the past month. It would be cool in some ways, but would really suck in other ways. I like it how it is, but I'm always happy to burn a CD or recommend some tunes to anyone who seems interested.

I have just taken some friends and brother to some bigger shows like PVD, Tiesto, and others. That and the only thing that plays in my car when I drive is trance or prog. But I don't actively try to turn them to the goodside

Well most of my mates are rockers. I find the best way to get them to APPRECIATE trance (not quite convert them) is to use the uplifting stuff, but not commercial stuff (cheeze). They usually don't get converted, but they can see that it isn't as they thought it was. More melodic stuff seems to appeal to people who didn't like trance before.

Last year I brought a whole bunch of friends who are not into trance to see Tiesto, and a good number of the embraced trance and converted. They are not as hardcore as me, but they actually enjoy listening to it now.
