I started with producing.. went over to DJing, and then I'm back into Producing (more than I DJ at least).
They are really two entirely seperate things.. Personally, I like producing more than DJing. Less pressure is on you because you're not preforming live infront of an audience.
In my own opinion, DJing is about practicing, learning skills, and then displaying them infront of an audience. Producing is about developing creativity and raw talent. Now Im not saying there is no creativity or talent in DJing, but i just feel producing is more based upon them.
No doubt, they both require alot of time and money.. but you should really decide what to do based on what you enjoy more. It's also good to do both if you have the opertunity, because some skills and techniques are interchangeble.
