Red face Scot Project the sellout!!!

now.. about 3 years ago, i discovered scot project thry hennes and cold - second trip (scot project mix)...... also tracks like nightclub - french kiss (scot project mix)... arome - scream (scot project mix)... dj x2000 - modem (scot project)... daisy dee - open sesame (scot project mix)....... all of these are unreal tracks, cos they all kick ass....... all are hard edged... great riffs, similar idea on track structure (like all scot p tracks r)..... so it kills me now a days.. when i see all of scots latest productions..... i.e arome - hands up... dingaling... D... overdrive, they are all to samey in my opinion.

now before you all go and try and flame me... please take note that i do have pretty much all of his productions so i do know what im talking about, and im not just a bandwagon fan, as i was an enormous scot p fan way b4 he found his current fame.

his sets are all too similar too, ok, they always have been, but his newer productions for me just dont cut the mustard anymore, im bored of them already.. whereas his older harder productions still kick, as far as im concerned.
I really do not appreciate his sets anymore, i wont deny that his newer tracks ARE great but, i find that they have less thought gone into them.
Anyone from the UKTA forum will tell you that i hate normal/uplifting trance.. this aint entirely true... i just dont appreciate the likes of armin van boring, and tiesto'verrated' (lol).

The reason for this thread is to announce that i think scot project has sold out in the sense that, people prefer his newer more uplifting productions.. as his harder/older stuff is more of an acquired taste. so he has changed his style ever so slightly to accomodate the uplifting fans out there.... i personally think this is wrong, not just because i like harder trance, but i think that as a DJ, you should stick to the style that you want to play, rather than what the majority wants to hear, this makes you a fake DJ/producer.
His sets DO still have a few harder edged tracks included in them, but mainly plagued by his uplifting favoured productions.... so this proves that he is producing uplifting tracks to sell more, as it is a more popular genre, but he still plays a few harder tracks to keep his original fans happy.

Does anyone agree with me, or agree with what scot project is doing?

All i know is that if Scott Project is leaving the french kiss style then im no longer interested :Þ I havent been following to exstensively lately but if this is the case id have to agree with ya. But in a sense he does have to make money to stay in the biz. I guess we'll just have to cross our fingers and hope for our old hard banging trax to come back once again

FINALLY someone who agrees with me.Scot P either suffers from a sever creativity problem or/and is drowinng in all the other hardtrance prodcuers that keep treading the same ground around him.I've pointed this out several times, but everytime I do somebody goes on the warpath and flames me.Hopefully that won't happen now.

Just like our tastes in music progresses, so does producer's taste in music progress. Maybe he wanted to do something new and progress his style?

I can imagine that you would get tired of making the same kind of tracks over again and over again for years.. (and I'm not saying that Scott does that)

Stop your moaning Jay , some of his old stuff is pure poo, he's just got better at producing, some of the melodies he's come up with are class. Still reckon his live remix of open sesame is his best tho

heh. what a load of crap that is. Of course u can sellout to summing that aint mainstream. I think the point Jay is making is that Scot P has sold out to his fans that first started following him for his hard and unique style.

yeh hes become more hairy fairy rather than full on hardness which is why he has "sold out" as it were.

you do get bored producing the same style everyday everyear for so many years.

its like you wake up.. you wouldn't feel the same everyday
sometimes you are =( sometimes you are =) ..
and you can't listen to the same tune everyday for the rest of your life, got to change once in awhile.
need something new.. all the time..

a producer likes to test out new sound/ style
test test experiment, but usually some elements of the old sound still reminds in the new production some just compeletly new

if all else fails then back we go to the old style.
if alot of people love the new sound...then the rest of his stuff will be like that in the future...
