What's this option here for?

It's got nothing to do with "e-mail notification" nor with "private messaging".
Since the first time I checked this page (profile -> edit options), I wonder what this option exists for

what do u mean by

The forums have at least 22 custom mods in them... about 15 were made by someone else, the others by me

....so, sometimes junk gets left over and I forget where all the pieces are left
