Dunno To mod, or not to mod?

Hey what's up?
So I was in the mall with my friend and I had just bought I copy of Dead to rights on my PS2 for $70.00 or so CAN, and he bought his for $25.00 CAN, NOW! I know his PS2 is modified and I just wana know if I should do it? Should I modified my system for $200.00 CAN, a yes or no... NO OTHER OPTIONS!
