my advice, take it easy, being the first time, it wont take much to get you messed up. And it may make you groggy, especially combined with alcohol..so you might burn out while @ the bar. Which could be a bad thing, unless you enjoy being thrown out face first. To me, weed is not a club drug. I sit around and talk and listen when im stoned. I dont feel like doing much. so ya....have fun, and take it easy.

what? did they get arrested? because other than that, it wasnt MJs fault - i dont see how anyone can 'screw up their lives' with a drug that is largely non addictive, cant kill you and is safer than alcohol and even caffeine in most circumstances.

as for the first time - i would not suggest drinking heavily, smoking and then going out. for the first time i would say that smoking somewhere chill and just hanging out is prolly the best idea. its likely to hit you hard, and mixed with booze that can get dangerous(puking, passing out) if you plan on doing anything social. i also wouldnt necessarily say that smoking before going out, and then drinking is a great idea. it may work, it may not.

normally if you wanna drink and then smoke, take the boozing easy and save the smoke for the end of the night - this is usually the best way to do it - tho since you arent *just* smoking or whatever, you wont really get a feel for what it does.

so with all that - i would suggest just chilling and smoking so you cant get used to it, cause its likely to freak you out a bit if youre in the wrong situation, or make you act like a completely retard(in the bad way) in a social sit|

lil known fact, smoking a J is just as bad, if not worse for your lungs that smoking a cigarette.

all that rez that builds up in your pipe or bong ends up right in your lungs. and since you typically hold a hit from weed longer than you would with a cigarette, it can do more damage. Its not carcinogenic like Cigarette smoke, but will damage your respiratory system none the less (V02 max etc) This usually only happens if you are chronic.

i know lots of peopel who smokes j's like sigarettes, and it sure aint doing them any good.

im not here to preach about drug,s you know me im far from anti drug, but too many peopel think weed is just an amusing replacement for tabacco, when it is far more headfucking, even if is less carcinogenic!

youre right. a j has prolly 4x as much tar and whatnot as a normal cig...but then again cig smokers smoke packs a day or more often, so thats a moot point. also the worst potential problem is someone that smokes both cigs and smot. MJ is absorbed in the upper regions of the lung and throat, while cig smoke goes deeper. so cancer associated with MJ smoke is often throat or neck cancer, whereas nic gets you lung, but the combo hurts your throat and neck especially bad.

but then you can always eat MJ, where there is nearly NO dangerous effect and the drug itself becomes 4x more powerful as its broken down in the stomache|

there is sort of a "myth" that goes around about smoking weed for the first time. a lot of people say you dont get high the first time...a lot of people say you do. for me, i didn't really feel "high". i remember giggling a lot uncontrollably and getting hungry and going to bed. i wasn't really aware of the high, but looking back, i obviously was. so that is probably what is meant by that myth...you just aren't aware of it like you are after you've done it a few times. i kind of agree with jspot...it's not really the drug you do before going out. it makes you lose all ambition to do anything...even getting ready is a bitch. but it's different for everyone. personally, i can handle getting high and then get ready to go out and do something. it's fun because i get more daring and creative with my make up and clothes when i'm stoned. i especially like to go to the movies after smoking too, it's great as long as it's not one of those movies you need to follow closely and figure out the plot. i wouldn't mix alcohol with it your first time either...i used to smoke every day so drinking after smoking a joint was nothing for me..it just makes you feel drunk and high lol... i still smoke occasionally but i'm definitely not a pothead any more. after you build a tolerance (that is, assuming you like the experience) you will be able to smoke a joint and have a beer and not be a moron or get sick. and last but not least, only smoke the GOOD SHIT! i hate regs...it gives me a headache and just makes me wanna go to sleep and u wake up with a weed hangover. bleh
