Hello! Gluegun Headphones ????????'s

Since your the resident headphones expert. I narrowed down my choices to the following:

TECHNICS RP-DJ-1200A
PIONEER HDJ-1000
PIONEER SE-DJ5000

I can't seem to make a decision, which do you recommend buying out of these.

if i am not mistaken, gluegun reccomends none of those, but instead the Sennheiser HD280s.

i plan on getting a pair of those.

I dont know much about the Pioneers.. No one at head-fi or headwize seems to have tried them. You are going to use these for loud club style environments, I assume? the Technics are tried and true at that...

Gluegun, yes they are for club use. The Pioneers had a nice over feel and a really clean well balanced sound, not overly bass driven like a certin silver Sony product. They were a bit chunkier than I would like but, seeing as they are a pretty new headphone I thought I'd ask an expert before I invested that kind of money on them.

Thanks again for the help.

P.S on the Senn 280s, they sounded great, but I didn't like the way they fit. Sounds weird I know but, the were not a comfortable feel for me.

I would go for the Technics....
I heard that they're top!!!
but right now I'm very satisfied from my Sony MDR-V700's

Perhaps you couold get the better Pioneers, the Technics, do an in-depth comparison for us, then return the inferior product?

sorry, i guess i put words in your mouth gluegun.

i thought you were all about the HD280s?

i heard that they are the best for blocking out external noise, -32db of noise cancelling or something.

and personaly, i think they look good, i am not a flashy person, and i don't want reflective junk on my head just so people know i am the DJ.

should i get the senns?

Because they simply didn't work out well in the noisy club that you're using them for! You see, they didn't have an exaggerated enough mid-bass, and when you tried to coax anywhere enough, they distort. And your problem is made worse by that monitor speaker that's blaring at something like 110 to 120dB at your ears. In that case, then nothing besides boomy headphones that ultimately sound really crappy for music listening will do the trick.

Ya... use the right tool for the right job... the 280's are right for MANY MANY jobs, and are inexpensive to boot, but not all.
