Question i-vibes reviews/trance reviews

does anyone else think that too many reviews are too easy on trance? There should be some sort of orginality review also. i am amazed i-vibes could give a 10/10 for a track like Harmonic Minor. Plus i think it gets old seeing titles like THE TUNE OF 2002 IT"S MASSIVE! seems like more then half the tracks out there are massive, or about to distory the dance floor or kill us wiht it phat beats or some other stupid 1-liner..too often it seems like they are sucking up to an artist, when they should be more honest. Telling the person they should not make tracks that sound like every other damn track they made.

if you read more reviews, and not just the ones of the big tunes

for instance vitalic (unknown song), you will see that we at i:Vibes try deliver a wide spectrum of songs.

I try to review progressive, and I am as honest as I possibly can be,

but keep in mind, if we get / buy a song which we don't like, then we tend NOT to review it, since reviewing a song, can take a long time.

before you try to put us down more, try to review an album, and make it look good,

good luck

For the reviews I have done, Symsonic, GC CD and Solstice I was honest with them, they totally moved me, the clubber journey cd I reviewed there, I did say it wasn't as good, and marked it down accordingly, theres no sucking up, if we don't like we will say, but most ppl do like the reviews we do, so we'll keep on giving an HONEST opinion

i take it the real critism here is about the green martian - harmonic minor sounding similar to all the other green martian productions?

you cant critize LVee for sticking to one particular style with this particular name out of the vast amount of his personnas. and besides 'wizardry' on the flip is completely unlike any other green martian track ever heard before. if he changed the green martian sound to another sound it would not be green martian anymore it would be....er...airwave or planisphere, etc. the prodution is great and the musical content always works really well and they kill on the dancefloor. so there

i think if you get a song you dont like and you dont review it, is quite sad Tim, on your part. If you get a shitty track you do a review and state why its shitty and what your personal opinion is on why it isnt a good track overall. Not doing a review for a 'in my opinion' bad track is quite pathetic. Like I've said many times also, There isnt any diversity on ivibes. Sure the reviews are a bit diversified, but look at the front page and all you see is trance this trance that. You guys might as well come out with it all and state that trance is what ivibes is all about.

later
Have a good one

I think not so good tracks should be reviewed as well. That will give you a broader spectrum on the music. Reviewing only 'good' tracks is not reflecting the reality out there. Not everything that is produced is good. People should know that.

Problem is that you don't usually go out and buy a vinyl that you don't like but yes, i can see where ur coming from, I spend every last penny I have sometimes on them but I spend wisely imo

Writing reviews is a major pain in the ass sometimes...especially for some of those weird sounding tunes - finding the right words is not easy.

..As for ratings... It's usually better to reflect that in your review rather than to give it a number out of 10.
