i have a copy of windows 2000 and i want to upgrade from windows 98 SE...but some of my hardware is incompatible with it so i need drivers that will allow my hardware to function under windows 2000...here is what i need:

- ess allegro-1 device manager
- ess allegro-1 dos emulation
- ess allegro-1 pci audio drive
- hsp56 micromodem
- trident blade 3d/mvp4(63)

...where can i get the drivers for these.

before you upgrade to windows 2000 (hopefully you haven't yet) you should download all the neccesary drivers for your hardware and software from www.driversguide.com or www.driverhq.com OR check the company's website. okay. now when you install it, you should have an option called upgrade packs somewhere down the line, so do that and find all your shit that you downloaded and it SHOULD work. a lot of software appz for win95/98 have this kind of upgrade system for win2k.

hmm i wander how Windows XP will be..its got a yummy interface and it supposely is as stable as win2k...but it needs a hell lot more ram and almost 2 gb of harddrive space.

Win XP and Whistler are the same
I have the beta 2 installed on my hard drive
It works very well, doesn't crash a lot, a very nice interface and all progs i had on win 98 or win ME are working properly (even partition magic)

Some probs with IE 6, but , eh, still a beta

So it's a very nice OS !
