I agree with trancegeek. Most trance is different. Always an own sound. Thats why trance is so special I think.

true, if there are any sounds that aren't repetetive, its gotta be trance, otherwise it wouldn't be called trance, it'd be called hard house

Verm, not all of us only listen to trance. I only post on this board about trance. Personally, I like:

Tech-House
Progressive
Breaks
House
Some Hard House (when i'm mad or f**ked up) and
Some DnB

in addition to Trance

However, trance - in all shapes and forms - has always been my fav - even if it isn't as 'cool' as the rest...

I agree with you there... I think it's true that "trance" and with "trance" we mean uplifting/epic/melodic trance (however you wanna call it) is getting too boring/cheezy.
That's one of the reasons why I left the uplifting/epic/melodic-trance behind and started focussing on progressive and on techno.

i disagree with ya there..
i don't think all trance sounds the same..
effectively..
hard house is trance
techno is also trance
and same with hard techno
to some extent u can say its trance
if u say all trance stays the same..
take a simple example..

Mystery - The Mystery
vs
Neo Cortex - Prepare

i can't find any similarities

i'm not trying to start a debate
but i totally disagree with u there

well, to be honest with you... i know every classic rock group/tune there is, listened to some heavy metal, classical, alternative, new wave....i mean... music is my life...Thats all i ever did was listen to music... then.. i was introduced to trance in 94...and let me tell you... i havent listened to anything else sinse...From when i started listen to it until now... the change is incredible...Go out and buy some of the newer trancemaster or tunnel trance series... Let me tell you, i was so pissed off buying them... They sucked..This just goes to show you how much we've come in the trance scene. The way some of these artists combine and blend these sounds...Maybe you just havent found good tunes?? Or maybe you just dont have an "open" ear, for i hear every sound in a tune. For a person to say that as a whole, trance is sounding the same... well, i beg to differ... Maybe certain artists have the same sounds.. like atb etc..but i think trance is getting better as time goes... Time= new sounds, more technology, more artists, more ideas, more people

depends what ya listen to i guess. personally, the newer stuff i've downloaded don't really sound the same at all. i dunno. maybe you're just havin' some rough luck and gettin' choonz that have a similar riff or somethin'. i dunno, trance will always be trance, no matter what direction it goes, and i'll always be followin' and listenin' to it.

Well I guess some trance sounds the same but far from all sounds the same. Like eurotrancefla73 said, itīs more like some music makers tunes sound the same and music makers from the same labels. Usually when a certain music style get commercial everything starts to sound the same cause the labels that releases the commercial stuff doesnīt dare to change the music, maybe like ATB, I dunno.
